Making Appointments
For appointments at St Leonards, Frenchs Forest and Ashfield, please phone 02 9467-5900 on Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Or scan/take a photo of your referral and email/upload it click here . Please indicate your preferred location and cardiologist. We will ring you with an appointment.
Referrals
You must have valid referral in order to claim Medicare rebates. GP referrals are valid for 12 months, or 3 months from a specialist Dr. If you do not bring a referral, you will not receive a refund from medicare. Referrals cannot be backdated.
Attending Our Rooms
Please bring your valid referral letter, Medicare card, health fund card and any relevant information such as blood tests, other test reports, doctors’ letters and list of medications. We make every effort to run on time and understand that your time is valuable. However, delays may occur when there are emergencies or complex patients. You are welcome to call our clinic (9467-5900) ~1 hr prior to your appt time to check if we are running on time.
Cancellations
Please let us know immediately if you need to cancel your appointment. We do not charge non-attendance fees, but you will not be able to make further appointments if you cancel without a reason.
Appointment Fees
Please phone our clinic for an estimate of fees. Full payment is required on the day, and we will process your Medicare claim on the spot. Medicare will then direct deposit the rebate into your account that you have provided to Medicare within 24-48 hours.
In-Hospital Procedure Fees
Our doctors are all registered no-gap providers. This means they have agreements with all relevant private health funds to not charge any additional gap fees to patients for any in- hospital procedure or stay. You will only have to pay your excess, which is set by your private health fund and varies depending on your chosen level of cover. If other specialists are involved in your care during your hospital stay, you will need to ask them if they charge a gap.
Booked for an elective procedure in hospital? Here’s what to do
Dr Antony Lau performs procedures at several hospitals. His main hospitals are the Northern Beaches Hospital and the Eastern Heart Clinic at the Prince of Wales Hospital. This is where Transoesophageal Echocardiogram (ToE), cardioversion, coronary angiogram and percutaneous coronary intervention are performed If you have a procedure booked at the Northern Beaches Hospital, this will be either on a Monday or Wednesday. 2. If you have a procedure booked at the Eastern Heart Clinic at the Prince of Wales Hospital, this will be on a Thursday. Please call the Eastern Heart Clinic at 02 9382 0700 at midday 12PM on Wednesday, ie. the day before your procedure. They will provide you with the arrival time and instructions. If you are booked in for a coronary angiogram or percutaneous coronary intervention, PLEASE FOLLOW THE BELOW INSTRUCTIONS.
